January-February, 2012
HAPPY NEW YEAR. Hope everyone had a great Holiday Season. We had a good one and the weather was nice so people could travel to friends and relatives.
It was a sad day when we heard that Shotgun Walker passed away. He and Jeannie were a couple of the people we always enjoyed at the Shows for many years. Shotgun always had a good story to tell. Will never forget, one time in Walsenburg, CO, the story he told about somebody coming into the Hardware Store, where he worked for many years, to buy a 2 X 4 piece of lumber. He had us all rolling on the floor laughing. Nobody could tell stories like him. We will all miss him very much and always looked forward to all his collectibles. Some of our funniest memories was at the award ceremonies, with him taking pictures and would always say, “too late”, after he had already taken the picture. He was always funny. Our best to Jeannie and family.
The NMBWCA extends its condolences to the friends and family of Bob Dobbins of Morphett Vale in South Australia. Bob passed away the last of Novermber. He was a very staunch supporter of our association and the ABWS. This past year he had his various rope knots award winning display at several of the shows and in September it was donated to the Devil’s Rope Museum.
Also sorry to hear that Larry Sutton’s Mother passed away. Know he lost his Father last year too. We send him and his family our very best.
Don’t know where 11 went but here it is 2012. Will not be too long until the first Show. It will be in Bullhead City, AZ. We had a good time out there last year and looking forward to the one this year. It will be on March 2nd and 3rd. Think there is a Show every month except August. Hope we can make them all.
The best to all and hope to see everyone at a Show or more this Summer.
